The drive to Buena Vista reveals springtime in the Rockies

In Buena Vista the Arkansas River is bank full and closed to rafting.

Are we ready?

Rest stops are up beat..

As are we.

 Best biking weather, ever.

We ride an extra mile to get to the true top of the ride on the N. side of Turquoise Lake

Having already visited the Hawaiian we're at the best stop--lunch in Leadville.  

Happy to be below the snow line.

 Part of our Leadville loop is through the historic mining district east of town. 

 Which is scenic compared to the current mining operations NE of town.

 And this one ends like so many others (am I getting a beer belly?)
